Brad Marchand nets his fifth career overtime

Nothing wrong with a blizzard in June.

After Brad Marchand scored the double-overtime winner in Game 2 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final, teammate Sam Bennett told his supposed secret, responding to how players fueled up for the extra periods.

"I think Marchy grabbed a Blizzard," Bennett quipped in a Saturday press conference, poking fun at Marchand's new rumored dessert kick from Dairy Queen.

"Yeah, Oreo today," Marchand laughed.

During Game 3 the Eastern Conference Final, Marchand was seen eating something between periods. Fans speculated it was a DQ Blizzard, but Marchand later said it was honey.

Not that he doesn't love a Blizzard, because who doesn't?

The Panthers had some fun with it on social media.

Whatever Marchand was eating it was working on Friday, as he finished with two short-handed goals, one in regulation and the winner, the first player to ever accomplish that in the Stanley Cup Final. His mother was pretty excited about it.

"She's one you need to put a muzzle on," Marchand joked about his favorite hockey mom.

Important Game 3 information for Panthers fans and Marchand: There are two Dairy Queen restaurants within five miles of Amerant Bank Arena. Just putting that out there, even if they already know that.
