The Boston Bruins are excited to continue their summer reading program, When You Read, You Score! The Boston Bruins have been partnering with the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissions (MBLC) and the Massachusetts Library System (MLS) since 2009 and with the New Hampshire State Library since 2019 to present When You Read, You Score! This summer reading program encourages children and teens to read over the summer months so they may avoid the "summer slide" and maintain skills they've learned over the previous academic year.

Children and teens who participate in summer reading programs show an increase in vocabulary scores on standardized testing and an increase in comprehension scores. In fact, reading just four books over the summer can prevent summer learning loss.
