Schenn brothers handshake line

After Game 7 of the Western Conference First Round on Sunday, brothers Luke Schenn and Brayden Schenn shared a moment during the traditional postgame handshake line.

Luke, a defenseman for the Winnipeg Jets, and Brayden, captain of the St. Louis Blues, hugged for an extra few seconds and shared some words during the salute between the two teams.

To top off the special moment, parents Jeff and Rita Schenn were in the building.

The Jets won the hard-fought series in a double overtime Game 7 thriller that saw Winnipeg tie the game with under two seconds left in regulation, then go on to win it in the second extra period.

The brothers battled along with their teammates all series long, with Brayden scoring in Games 4 and 6 to help the Blues force the deciding Game 7.

“Just brotherly love. We’re just competing. That’s what we do,” Brayden said after Game 6. “I love Luke, and he’d say the same thing about me and it’s nothing offside, it’s just the game and at the end of the day, we’re competing for our teams for the Stanley Cup.”

While it was ultimately Luke and the Jets who came out on top, clearly the brotherly love runs deep.
